We had our goodbye Thai lunch with our professor and supervisor. And our last co-intern lunch. The magazine arrived a day early and everything went smoothly for once. The presentation was created, and then presented, once on Thursday in front of our fellow TMU interns, and then again on Friday at the Academic Conference at the National Science Council. I purchased clothes for both the conference and the banquet and bought a lot of...shoes. YAY SHOES.
Basically, the week went by in a whirl, and I just got more and more excited that it was all coming to an end. A little sad, mostly because I was happy it was over.
Breakfast at Crown Bakery with the mother and the cousin, and then we ventured down the blue line all the way to Banqiao to wander the streets for a small while, go into this..."tea shop" aka a restaurant that sells a giant portions of tea, a bunch of set meals, and a big selection of "snacks" and people are allowed to just chill there forever and there's a smoking section in the front...I think it's a cultural thing. I can't think of an American equivalent. Anyways, we lingered for a while before the screaming children got the best of us. Of course as soon as we stepped out we realized that it was pouring outside...and with one umbrella and three people, we stayed at 7-eleven...for a long while. Like a long time. And as soon as the rain died down into a drizzle we were back down the blue line to Hankyu for dinner.
Last day of wurk....
Okay, onto the next day. Went to Costco in the morning. Wrong bus there, wrong bus back. Got back just in time to change and trek on over to the Ambassador Hotel for the banquet. Might I mention that walking around Taipei in relatively low heels makes me feel like a giant...
bring on the night...afterparty?
And that was the end of TTT. THE END.
Have a nice day, I'll catch you on the other side (of the Pacific...unless I can squeeze in a mini post at the airport..) Gotta make the most of these last days!
